Emotional Vampires

‘Emotional Vampires’ are those individuals who will do everything to let you down. Emotional vampires are egoistic, manipulative, demanding and self- serving. These people can have impressive personality, yet they are emotionally exhausted. Emotional vampires will make friends quickly and later exploit the same for their own benefit. They are those enemies who are disguised as friends.
Types Of Emotional Vampires:
Emotional vampires can be categorized into following categories according to their nature:
- Narcissism: These are those people who require constant attention and praise. One of their common features, that can be noticed is, what ever kind of topic is being discussed, each time they will try to bring themselves as the core of discussion.
- Victim hood: ‘They are misest of all in the world,’ it is the tendency the people of this category uphold. They always have a story to tell, about how they have been cheated, their bad luck etc. They make you, pity them and console them in all ways.
- Control: These are dominating people who will always dictate you about everything. He/she will try to dominate you and make you feel inferior or weak.
- Criticizer: They are people who believe in criticizing others. Each act done by others would need some or other kind of modification. You will feel incompatible in their company.
- Drama Queen: These are those who what to be the center of attraction every time. They want that people should love and discuss about him only. if they want something or want to discuss something they will ask for approval if it is given it it good and in case you deny them they will become aggressive.
How to deal with emotional vampires:
- First and fore try to avoid beginning any kind of interaction with such individuals.
- Don’t get depressed, console your self by saying that such behavior is his problem not yours.
- Always keep cool and maintain composed relation with them.
- At your work place you can not avoid them so, try to meet them rarely and very casually.
- Let them realize that you are least bothered about their activities. Once they will realize this fact they will stop targeting.
