Home Remedies for Oily Skin
Posted by jem on 10/8/07 in Home Remedies, skin care
Most of us face the problem of having a very oily skin which feels very greasy and sweaty. This is because the thick texture pores are enlarged. After a good wash it feels fine but it doesn’t stay for long. By midday it looks shiny. To top it all people with oily skin are more prone to pimples.
Home Remedies:
The first step towards treating oily skin is with a gentle, foaming facial wash. This will remove dirt and oil without removing away moisture.
- Tomatoes are very good for skin. Grind tomatoes and apply the paste to your skin. Let it dry and wash off.
- Mix one tablespoon yoghurt with fuller’s earth and apply. Yoghurt itself can be applied on the face. It helps to tone down the skin and refurbishes the natural acid mantle.
- Use the pulp of raw papaya. Papaya has a cleansing action, softening dead skin cells and aiding their removal.
- You can also use powders as they absorb the oil and give you a oil free skin. Baby powder acts the best.
Suggestions for Oily Skin:
- Wash your face with cold water for 3-4 times a day. It will not only leave you feeling refreshed but will also tighten the pores.
- Follow up the cleanser with an astringent as this will remove all excess oil.
- Drinking water is a must. Drink at least 8-10 glasses of water everyday. Water helps in flushing out the toxins from the body.
