Home Remedies to Ease the Pain of Sunburn

If you find yourself spending too much time in the sun, here are few natural home remedies which can help ease the pain of sunburn, and help in the body’s healing process:

1. Cold Milk wrapping: - Milk is known to have soothing qualities for sunburned skin due to the presences fat and lactic acids. Soak a soft cloth or cotton gauze in cold whole milk, and cover the burned skin. Do this for about 20 minutes. And rinse it off with cold water. For this treatment whole milk is preferable because of the fat content present in them.

2. Cool, sugarless tea: - The tannin in tea is the dynamic ingredient here, which helps to relieve and ease some of the uneasiness of sunburned skin. After making tea allow it to cool completely. Wash the affected areas with a soft sponge or washcloth.

3. Aloe Vera: – Aloe Vera is generally used to treat sunburn. It provides soothing relief and it also helps in the healing process. Apply Aloe Vera to the affected areas as desired. The gel taken directly from an Aloe Vera plant works best. If you don’t have it, you may use Aloe Vera Cream that contains the gel. 

4. Water: - When exposed to the sun, your body loses water and vital salts in the body. Dehydration takes place when your body loses too much fluid, and starts to reabsorb fluid from the blood and other body tissues. To prevent dehydration, increase your fluid intake to make sure you sufficiently re-hydrate your body for optimum recovery and health.
