Eye Care For Computer Screen Readers!
Do you know that Vision is one of the foremost and important part of a posture! Well, if you didn’t, then don’t be worried that you have back pain, problem with eyes, and well…and what not. Sounds complicated. Don’t worry…what I want to say is that eye care is an important part of keeping yourself healthy.
Here are some tips on how to take care of your eyes when reading something on a Computer Screen:
The Right Distances: Atleast, 25 inches to 30 inches from the monitor is a necessity. Hence it becomes important that the ‘desk’ on which you place your monitor gives you enough space. If it doesn’t, then go for a keyboard (along with stand etc) with a long wire. Nowadays, wireless monitor and keyboard aren’t costly either. You can opt for them as well.
Glare Problems: Have a light source perpendicular to your screen. Having a window or light opposite your screen (or computer monitor) means the light is reflected from the screen. And as a result the contrast is decreased, making it difficult for your eyes to read. But a perpendicular light source, doesn’t fall on either your eyes or the screen. No reflection, no problem!
Sitting Position: Importantly remember that your body follows exactly what your eye follows. No wonder eyes Hence it is extremely important to have your computer screens at the correct angles from your eyes. Arrange your seating position and screen so that your eye and the top of the screen are in the same line. Having the screen face downwards pushes your body down, resulting in pain in back etc. Having the screen face upwards causes problem in your upper back, shoulder and neck etc.
2 Minute Breaks: If you aren’t taking breaks every half-an-hour, you are in for problems with your eyes. This is a huge factor in taking care of your eyes, especially those who edit something on their screen because they tend to put more effort through their eyes.
Looking away from the screen (any screen…not even your colleague’s or friend’s) while taking a walk is the right kind of tonic for your eyes.
