TV Viewing + Teenage = Learning Problems

In a shocking revelation, a Research team found that teens, who watched TV for more than three hours a day, are prone to Learning Problems! 638 families have been observed for the research, and the growing kids of the family were interview when they were 14, 16 and 22!

Though in the beginning it was believed that being addicted to Television is a result of Learning Problems, this research has proved it the other way round.

But for parents of teenagers this is a news of worry. However parents can use some of the following tips to keep a tab on their teenage kid TV watching:

1. Ask Your Teenager to Plan a Day: Yes this works. Though most people believe that teenagers cannot plan, it is a fact that all Teenagers feel that they are not understood well. Asking them to chalk out a plan for themselves, and helping them with it will give you and your teenager kid the right kind of acquaintance. Remember two and a half hour per day is the max!
2. Balance TV Viewing Hours: If the teenager asks for more time on weekends, tell them that they will have to balance it out by losing some TV time the following week. This will help them be responsible as well as making helping them cut down their viewing time.

3. Respect the ODD day: Some days it is just not possible to get yourself off the TV. This is no different from a teenager as well. Respect one of those off days. May be it is because of that impeccable Base Ball match or simply there is nothing else to do on a rainy day, use it as a gift to perform better things!

More importantly DO NOT say relate performance directly with TV viewing. Though it could be a problem, one has to first make sure that there are no other problems affecting learning of your teenager!
