Caring for Computer Affected Eyes!
Ever wondered what’s troubling your eyes…is it the ever increasing pollution or is it something else? Well, if you didn’t already know it – it is the Computer Screen that is troubling more than anything. But you, billions of people across the globe and I cannot keep away from the Comp.
So how do we deal with troubled eyes? Use anti-glare or something else. Though anti-glares help, the constant flickering of images, changes of colors, backgrounds and reading tires your eyes enormously. Given below are most suggested tips for your eye care:
1. 20-20 rule – For every 20 minutes relax your eyes by looking away from the screen for 20 seconds. This really helps, those who have to constantly gaze at the screen without having the chance to get up from their seat.
2. Cupping – Cup your palms, over your closed eyes and darken the environment for your eyes. Hold it for few seconds, then get to normal routine by slowly opening your eyes.
3. Palming – Use the lower part of your palm to put a small amount of pressure on both of your closed eyes. Rotate the palms, as if to rotate your eye balls. Do it in opposite directions for few seconds. This is extremely helpful exercise.
4. Stretching – Don’t try to stretch your eyes. This exercise only aims at stretching your vision. Close one eye. Hold a pen, spoon or simply gaze at a pointed finger at about 25 centimeters away from the open eye. Pull off the pen or spoon in sudden jerks to either sides and try to follow it with your eye. This exercise also helps in treating your eye, which is being affected badly.
5. Tea Bags – Using tea bags is said to have relaxed eyes. Put two tea bags in a refrigerator before you start on a working day. Put them on your eyes for few minutes as soon as you come back. And feel the difference.
6. Posture - This is important part of caring for your eyes. Most people tend to overlook their sitting posture. It is very important that the spine is sitting in its most comfortable position, otherwise it not only affects your back, it also affects your vision.
