How to Prevent Tooth Decay?

Moms be careful. You already know how difficult it is to have your children brush their teeth in the mornings and before they sleep. But to increase your worries, a recent report says that Children today face greater chances of having a tooth decay.

But for any problem, there is always a solution. Let’s find what we can do to make sure your child doesn’t have decaying teeth:

1. If your kids are too young, bribe them into brushing with a fruit. Yes, it not only serves them their quick breakfast, it is healthy as well. And, obviously reduce your bribe daily. Give them their breakfast, but few minutes after a brush.

2. If using Fluoride toothpastes, make sure you don’t ask your kid(s) to rinse off their mouth. Fluoride needs to be stuck to teeth to fight germs.

3. Chewing Disclosure tablets makes Plaque into visible pink color. These should be used, once every 3-4 months to show your kids(s) to point out areas in their mouth that are not very clean.

4. Make teeth brushing a fun job to do. You can add music, or simply brush with your kids. They will try to ape you, and will learn quite a few things from you.

5. Night brushing is a tough job, even for an adult. Don’t force night brushing when your children don’t like to or when they are too sleepy. Do not allow any kind of food after night brushing. But in case it’s a problem, you can allow them to see their favorite TV show, some other day.

6. Regular dental check is a must. Especially for kids who are below eight. Also, keeping a check on the ’snack’ and chocolate intake helps.

And in case your kid does have a decayed tooth (or teeth), don’t panic. It is not the end of world. You will have to be more careful.
