Avoid grilled, fried or broiled meat
To know the quality of a food item, it is not just enough to know what it is made of, but also how it is prepared. Meat and other animal products like cheese are supposed to become toxic if they are grilled, fried or broiled.
A class of toxins called advanced glycation end products (AGEs) are found in animal products that are grilled, fried or broiled. This toxin gives the food good taste and smell. By consuming such food items, AGEs are absorbed into the human body especially in older people. AGEs are considered to cause inflammation, diabetes, kidney disorders, heart diseases and Alzheimer’s. Increased exposure to this substance through the diet can increase the chances of such diseases.
When AGEs accumulate in the tissues, if hampers with the body’s built-in defense system and causes inflammation. So it is advisable to adopt alternative methods of treatment like steaming or boiling. Maintaining water content in the food reduces the AGE levels.
