Tips to avoid traveling sickness

Do you suffer from dizziness, nausea, drowsiness, headache or vomiting while you are traveling? Then you are definitely a victim of traveling sickness. To avoid missing out the joy of traveling, follow these tips or precautions to keep yourself at bay from traveling sickness.
- Avoid having heavy meals within one hour of traveling. But do not travel on empty stomach. Also avoid strong smelling food or snacks.
- Do not be seated right over the wheels of the vehicle.
- Do not be afraid of falling sick while traveling. Anxiety can worsen the condition.
- Open the window of the vehicle a little to let in fresh air or else, turn on the air conditioner.
- Avoid reading or playing hand-held video games while traveling.
- Do not look at other moving things like a moving car. Focus on a distant point outside the car. It is better to take the front seat if you are traveling by car. If you are in a boat or an air plane, stay in a central location.
- Do not keep moving your head rapidly. Keep it still as much as possible. And avoid facing backwards while seated.
- If you feel dizzy or drowsy, close your eyes and lie flat.
- If you are suffering from nausea, calm your stomach with peppermint or lime.
- Ginger is a popular remedy for motion sickness.
- Avoid smoking and alcohol.
