Sit in the right posture at work place and avoid back pain
Does your work involve sitting for a long period of time? Then certainly you are a victim of frequent back pain attacks as it is here that you spend almost half of your life. Back pain is mainly caused due to improper sitting posture and also because the design of your chair does not suit you.
You might perhaps have been asked to sit erectly, upright in a 90 degree angle. Until recently people believed that sitting erect in right angles is the right posture and it was on this basis that the furniture was designed. But haven’t you ever felt that sitting in erect posture for long is not easy or comfortable?
Studies have proved that it is possible to bend only about 60 degrees at the hip-joints. To attain a position of balanced seating we often tilt our chairs. This position relieves strain from our back and relaxes the front and back muscles. Front seat tilt and higher work surfaces help in reducing the back pain. This is considered to be the natural resting position.
If you do not tilt your chair, then sit in a relaxed posture on your chair without forcing yourself to sit upright. In an attempt to correct their slump position, people often force and try to hold themselves in an upright position. So instead of sitting upright, sit in a relaxed posture. Sitting in this way also helps you attain the natural resting position thus relieving strain from your muscles and back.
