Tips to Setup a Home Theatre

home1.jpgGone are the days when home theatres used to be a luxury item for a few wealthy people. These days it doesn’t take much money, space or time to equip your home with a home theatre. Do make necessary planning before you start off with installing your home theatre.

  • Know how your room is structured and plan accordingly. Choose a room that is not brightly lit with too many windows. You can also use drapes or shutters to keep off light from the room.
  • It would also help to paint the walls and ceilings black. You could also frame the television with a heavy red velvet cloth.
  • The surface of the room should not be very smooth as it will reflect sound. Ground floor is always best for theatres.
  • Your system should be placed in such a manner that the wires of the surround system are kept along the baseboard of your walls.
  •  Keep speaker stands in such a place where there is no possibility of it being knocked over. If the space is less it can also be wall mounted. But make sure that the wall mount can carry weight slightly more than the speaker’s weight.
  • Make sure that the power lines in your rooms can take the load of the new system as the power required for a home theatre will far exceed the requirement of a typical television.
  • Label the plugs near the outlet.
  • You can buy a storage cabinet to place your DVD collections.
  • Before buying, try to find out which television has the best features.

Follow these guidelines and convert any room in your house into a theatre.
