Over 30 young women between the ages of 18 and 32 were asked why they considered the geeks as an unfashionable lot. These are some of the tips framed from their responses, for those nerds and geeks who do not want to be considered unfashionable.

• Do not wear pants with pleats or with tapered legs.
• Do not leave your belt-loops deserted. Wear a belt for your pant.
• Let your shoes match your outfit.
• Do not wear socks with sandals. This is a typical nerd style.
• White socks should be used only for sports activities. But if your socks do not really show, it does not matter what color they are.
• Do not wear free or company t-shirts.
• Do not tuck in your t-shirt.
• Take care to iron your clothes.
• Keep your nails trimmed and clean.
• Walk, sit and stand in an upright position.
• Avoid wearing electronic devices on your belt.

When people these days are sporting for the nerd look, especially with the nerd glasses being the hit of the day, why feel sorry about the nerd look that is so natural to you?  And after all, fashion also means being “different”. These are times when it is a fashion to not follow the fashion.
