pregnant1.bmpWomen usually gain weight during pregnancy and retain the extra weight even after the baby is delivered. If you do not take efforts to reduce that extra fat or the baby fat, it might remain with you for life time.

  • Leading an active life during pregnancy will make it easy to lose weight after pregnancy. Pregnant women are advised to exercise at least half an hour every day unless prohibited by your doctor. Never go for dieting during pregnancy.
  • It would be better to consult with your doctor before you start any exercise program as your body might need some time to heal from the strain of child birth.
  • If you have had a cesarean, exercising is strictly prohibited for at least three months.
  • Involve in incidental exercises like taking your baby in the stroller whenever possible. After few months you might have to run after your child to feed them.
  • Carrying your baby in your arms is also a nice way of losing calories.
  • Low impact aerobics, brisk walking and cycling will be of great help.
  • Eat healthy meals regularly. Avoid going on fad diets.
  • Exercise between 3-5 times a week.
  • Increase the amount of fruits and vegetables and reduce the intake of meat and dairy products.

Women often find it difficult to lose weight after pregnancy. It takes around 3-6 months time for a woman’s body to get back to the normal stage. But sometimes our muscles do not come back to its initial stage on its own. They need good exercise to keep it healthy strong and firm.
