- Do not sleep leaving the lights on. Let your bedroom be as dark as possible. If you switch on the lights, the melatonin level in your body will get reduced, thus affecting your sleep.
- Do not keep the alarm clocks loud. The loud noise will shock your body from sleep. For those who have a peaceful sleep, alarm clock becomes unnecessary.
- Avoid napping for more than 45 minutes and after 15:00 hours in the afternoon.
- It is easier to fall asleep when it is cool than when it is warm. So keep the temperature of your bedroom low.
- Cultivate regular sleeping hours. Sleep around the same time every day.
- Avoid caffeine because it would interfere with your sleep. Its effect lasts for 5 to 6 hours.
- Consumption of alcohol will cause sleep disturbance and it might also lead to some serious sleep disorders.
- Avoid bedtime snacks rich in sugar and carbohydrate content. Eating before bedtime raises your body temperature.
