Tips to Manage Oily Skin

oil3.JPGDoes your skin feel great in the morning and becomes greasy by lunch time? This happens because the sebum secreted from your hair glands spread on the skin making it oily. The sebum may get deposited on the pore of your skin and cause acne problems and pimples. The nose has more number of sebaceous glands and hence is the most affected area. Heredity, lifestyle, diet, humidity and hormonal imbalances are some of the factors that lead to oily skin. Here are some tips to manage oily skin:

  • Wash your face frequently with warm water.
  • Do not use oil based cosmetics.
  • Use clay masks to cleanse your skin of excess oil.
  • Benzoyl Peroxide unplugs the pores and reduces bacteria. Products containing Benzoyl peroxide is effective in the treatment of oily skin.
  • You can use lime juice, cucumber, yoghurt or tomato puree on your skin. Fruit acids are effective in oily skin treatment.
  • Use a good exfoliate at least three times a week to cleanse your skin.
  • Do not use oily hair care products; and keep your hair off your face.
  • Avoid too much makeup as it is not good for your skin. Even if you de makeup, use only oil free products.
  • Soak cotton in an astringent and apply on your face to refresh your skin.
  • Applying a mixture of egg white and milk powder on your skin is a good remedy for oily skin.
  • Avoid cold creams, lotions and sunscreens that give your skin a greasy feel.
