- Avoid hanging long draperies and curtains in your child’s room because they might have a tendency to pull it down.

- Allow plenty of light and air circulation in the room.
- Let the drapery or curtain be of the same shade, color or pattern as the other fabrics in the room like the bed sheets, pillow covers or table cloths.
- Ask your child’s opinion while decorating the room. But let the final decision be yours.
- Choose a theme (like your child’s favorite cartoon) to decorate your child’s room.
- Be careful while choosing the paint. Do not use lead based paints as it would be poisonous. You could also use paints that are washable.
- Decorate the walls with stickers and posters of cartoons, characters or animals that your child adores. But let these decorations be removable.
- Be careful while choosing tiles for the kid’s bathroom. Let it not be slippery.
- Let your child enjoy his/her bath by providing floatable toys in the bathroom.
- You could paint or decorate the ceiling by giving it the “stellar effect” of the night sky.
- Paint the bottom half of the walls with chalk board paint so that they can write, draw or paint to their heart’s content.
- It would be an excellent idea to stencil your child’s name on the wall.
