Avoid Big Purse, Avoid Back Pain!

Are you carrying a big purse that too for long periods of time? If yes, you are at the risk of back, neck and shoulder pain, and even headaches and arthritis.

These days, women are carrying extra large purses that even weigh about 7-10 pounds. The new heavy purses mean women are carrying more weight, which is causing an imbalance when they walk and stand.

When you carry a bag, usually you carry it on one side. This means you pull your neck to one side and lift your shoulder. It is a very unnatural and unhealthy position for your body and bones.

Carrying such heavy weights for several hours at a time puts pressure on your muscles. This heavy load creates strain along neck and into the nerves that exit the neck. It also causes strain down the shoulder. This turns very painful later on for many women.

So, how much should you carry? Health experts say, if you’re carrying your cell phone, makeup and wallet, it is enough for your shoulder. If you feel uncomfortable when you put your purse on or your purse is pulling on your shoulder, then it’s time to downsize your bag.
