Fish Is Not Too Healthy For Pregnant Women !!!

Keep a watch on the amount of fish you eat during pregnancy as it may be bad for your fetus. It is a common belief that fish is healthier than meat and chicken, but researchers in Taiwan have warned that fish can be particularly harmful for the fetuses of moms-to-be.

The study showed that pregnant women, who ate fish for more than 3 times a week, endangered their unborn fetuses, as fish contains high levels of mercury. Therefore women should cut down on the intake of fish during pregnancy.

And pregnant women should avoid fish that contain high levels of mercury, such as mackerel and swordfish. They can choose safer options like shrimp and tilapia, which contain lower mercury levels. Sweet water fishes are generally the recommended safer alternatives.
