Cold weather and winds can play havoc on your skin during the winter months. Here are a few tips to deal with winter dryness:
- Apply olive oil to your face and wash off after some time.
- Mix equal amounts of rose water and glycerine and add a dash of lemon juice to it. Apply on your dry face and wash off after half an hour.
- Apply a good moisturiser on your face before going to bed every night and wash off in the morning.
- Mix equal amounts of olive, mustard and sesame oil and apply on your skin to get rid of winter dryness and to keep your skin smooth and supple.
- When going for a facial cleansing regimen, choose tomato or raspberry juice.
- Avoid long hot baths in winter as it takes away your body’s natural oils.
- Apply the pulp of fresh aloe vera to your skin.
- Use toners and astringents sparingly as these tend to dry the skin.
- Drink lots of water to keep your body hrdrated and moisturised.
- Massage hands with olive oil. Or prepare a mixture of lemon juice and rose water and apply on your dry hands.
- Apply generous amounts of moisturising cream or vaseline to heal dry and cracked feet before bedtime. Wear a pair of socks over it, to help your skin absorb the cream completely.
