How To Deal With Bloodshot Eyes …
If your eyes are bloodshot, the small vessels on the surface of your eyeballs are clearly visible and dilated. Bloodshot eyes can be caused by some irritant, lack of sleep, alcohol consumption, pollution, overuse of contact-lenses, allergy, eyestrain, excessive rubbing or anything that dries your eyes like high heat, low humidity, insufficient tear production.
Here are a few tips to get rid of irritation and redness:
1. Wash your face and eyes with cold water several times in a day. Dip your eye in a glass or bowl of cold water and hold for sometime.
2. Wear sunglasses whenever you go out.
3. Take sufficient rest and sleep.
4. Use a cold compress.
5. See a doctor and get proper medications. Over-the-counter eye-drops and eye washes can help you to get rid of blood-shot eyes. But remember to follow your doctor’s instructions and do not overuse. Get good lubricating eye-drops to help deal with dry eyes.
6. Discontinue your contact-lenses for sometime till your problem is solved.
7. Do not sit directly near a fan or AC. The air will further dry your eyes.
