Pregnancy And Your Teeth

pre.jpgIf you are pregnant, you need to take extra care of your teeth. Your gums and teeth undergo several changes during pregnancy due to the hormonal flow. And, there is an increased blood flow throughout the body that may cause gums to become swollen and tender. But a routine dental cleaning can help your gums to remain healthy and reduce irritation from swelling. Here are some helpful tips:

  • Eat more fruits and vegetables to maintain the health of your pearly whites. Consume enough citrus fruits like oranges, mango, lemon etc.
  • Brush your teeth twice every day. And use gentle, circular stokes, in order to avoid bleeding.
  • If morning sickness causes vomiting, brush your teeth soon after.
  • See a dentist regularly to check whether there’s any problem with your teeth.
  • If your gums are sensitive, apply some ice to soothe them.
  • Floss gently and use a soft-bristled toothbrush.
  • Stop all intake of colas, alcohol and other agents of tooth decay. Also cut down on your intake of chocolates and other sweets.
  • Never ever smoke during your pregnancy as this can affect the health of the mother and baby. Also, smoking is bad for your teeth.
  • Calcium and Vitamin D intake should be monitored by a doctor.
  • Get a healthy amount of sunlight. But do not overexpose, as this can be harsh on your skin.
  • Dental problems could also be due to snacking often. So eat healthy food at regular intervals.
  • After eating, rinse your mouth with water properly and remove any particles stuck between your teeth.
  • If emergency dental care requires X-Rays of your teeth during pregnancy, inform your doctor of your pregnancy.

The content mentioned in the blog.ygoy.com website is amazing and due to which i got addicted to your website.

I would like you to add one column for English, i mean spoken or written english.

I’ve suggested this because i feel that the written english on this website is excellent and without any typo errors as far as i know.

    Good work YgoY team

    Best Wishes
