‘Workout’ At Office!

workout-office.jpgNowadays every employee complaints of various physical and mental ill effects due to overwork and overstress. Problems of the neck and shoulder stiffness are the most common problems among them.

Sometimes, people even feel like they’re starting to root in their chairs. They don’t even do the minimal exercise of getting out of their cabin for every 30 min and walking for few minutes.

Most of the corporate don’t offer any facilities like yoga sessions to get relief from these symptoms of overwork. If you feel that doing yoga or workouts in the office reduces your productivity, you are mistaken. With some easy changes in your office routine, you can accomplish the same goals with even much better performance.

E-mail meditation
When reading e-mail, breathe slowly. Focus your attention on your breath. Your out breath should be two times longer than the in breath. This email meditation helps in calming your mind.
Crowded-elevator stretch

Place one hand on the wall for balance. Standing on your left foot, cross right foot over left leg just above the ground. Feel that the sole of left foot is rooted into the floor, and lengthen your body. Relax and breathe, then switch legs.

Afternoon meltdown
If you feel any back sore, legs tired or mind racing, find a quiet place near a chair or wall. Lie on your back and put your legs up. Then, breathe deeply.

Photocopier stretch
Place your hands on the edge of the copier. Stand back with your feet apart. Drop your head and chest. Now, breathe and relax your shoulders.

Paperweight relay
Find out the heaviest object on your desk that you can hold in one hand. Sitting on an exercise ball, lift that object high over your head. Then, lean forward on your ball, keeping your back neutral. Lower your hands. Keeping your arms straight, pass the object from one hand to another.
