“Divorce!” is one word which kids don’t understand, and by the time they understand it they are already prey to it. And yet, most divorcing parents do not know what they are giving to their chidren.

A recent report says that of all the people involved in a marriage, it’s the kids who are affected most. Here are a few things children might face:

1. Health Problems: Children of divorced parents are more likely to face problems associated with their health, behavior and dealing with emotional situations. That could also be the reason why they get into self abuse, either with drugs or other wise.

2. Academic Pressures: Math and spelling could be a big problem, apart from concentrating on reading for these children.

3. Economic Pressures: Many single parents, especially women, tend to get financially down after a divorce, and hence children with these parents might feel the effects. Getting used to a new economic situation cannot be as easy, resulting in excessive demanding or dullness.

In any way, separated parents have a long lasting effect on how their children deal with the rest of their lives. Parents have to stop believing that peacefully separated parents are better than fighting parents in their home. There is not much of a difference between the two and, with separation, the chances of reconciling are only few.
