What Passive Smoking Does to You?
There have been few talks about second hand smoking is as good as smoking. Though not completely, a new research confirms this. The study says that shortness of breath and other respiratory problems can be found even in non-smokers, who are exposed to smoking for long.
Here is what passive smoking can do to you:
1. Cough: Is you friend or a family member, a smoker? One need not see your friend to look at it. The fact that you cough daily, without a probable reason and without too much effort, but still feel the urge to cough, says it all.
2. Dyspnea: Shortness of breath is a more chronic possibility in people who are subjected to passive smoking. People who suffer shortness of breath sometimes have to talk louder and take too many breaths to finish off one sentence.
3. Bronchitis: Incessant cough, with sputum coming up from the respiratory tract causes Bronchitis. Unfortunately people living in metropolis are subjected to this, and if they are around people who smoke, there is every chance that bronchitis can become chronic.
4. Lung Problems: Actually, most of the above problems start off with the upper respiratory paths narrowing down slowly. However, even lower tracts can also be affected hugely with smoking from what your dear smoker friend exhales.
As said in my earlier posts on smoking, smoking can affect your body to more than 2500 toxins. The only difference between a smoker and a passive smoker is that a passive smoker cannot get oral infections like a smoker.
Passive smoking is dangerous, so avoid situations wherein you are have to talk to mingle with smokers. Yes, there always be situations where you cannot avoid talking to some one who smokes. In such situations, move outdoors. That will try and reduce the affects a bit. And if you are a non-smoker, but want to help a smoker friend quit smoking, click here: Quit Smoking
