Smoking Moms affect Babies’ Heart!
Smoking (active or passive) during the first 10days of conception to first trimester of pregnancy might the baby’s heart. That’s what researchers say, the most unfortunate thing being that even passive smokers are affected.
For a normal woman giving birth to a baby with a congenital heart disorder (CHD) is possible. But for a woman subjected to smoke, the chance of having a baby with CHD are 60% more than a woman not subjected to smoke.
Even if a women stops smoking after first three months, the fetus will have had enough smoke effects. But this is no reason to continue with smoking.
A cigarette is found to have 2500 substances that are harmful to a human body. The fact that every year 36,000 babies are born with some or the other heart disease, only adds more reason for us to quit smoking (click here for ten tips to quit smoking)
