Easy Tips for Healthy Nails

If you think maintaining healthy natural nails is a complicated task, you are mistaken. With simple nail care tips given below you can easily get healthy nails.
- The best time for manicure is after taking a shower, bath or after washing dishes. These activities remove the dirt from under nails.
- Use nail polish thinner to thin out nail polish that has become too thick. To make the polish last longer, keep it in the refrigerator.
- Don’t use nail polish remover for more than once a week, because it causes nails to dry out. Dry nails crack and split more easily.
- A top coat or sealer should be applied over the nail polish. Any clear nail polish can work as a top coat or sealer, and can help minimize chipping or cracking of the nail. Use a clear coat on natural nails every day for seven days; it gives the nail protection and keeps the moisture in.
- After washing your hands, apply a cream or lotion as your hands and nails get dried out due to soaps and cleansers. Also keep your hands and cuticles well lubricated with the help of a moisturizer like Vaseline. Use an oil or moisturizer at bedtime for healthy nails.
- Nail polish and dirt can stain your nails. You can remove it using a Q-tip or an orangewood stick with a cotton tip. Soak the cotton in 10 parts water mixed with 1 part bleach. Rub the nail to remove stains. Scrub under the nails with a nailbrush or toothbrush with soap or bleach solution.
- A vitamin called biotin helps make nails stronger. You can get biotin at health food stores.
