avoid-junk-food.jpgBurgers, Pizzas, Dough nuts, coke, chocolates, and the list goes on. All these names give parents a nightmare and children a fairy tale! Well, not just for children but for many adults who don’t want to be seen.

Eating ‘junk food’, which is more often sweet, is an addiction that has not been officially declared as an addiction. Experiments, studies, research all have went down and the results show a scary fact - it is not easy to quit eating junk food.

Find the reasons below:

1. Brain Supports Fast Food (Part I): Junk food releases certain pleasure chemicals in the brain, called Opioids. Opioids, as the name suggests, is a chemical which is released when alcohol or opium is taken.

2. Junk food are good to look at: Junk foods are visually stunning. They are made to look like art pieces. Your eyes love them.

3. Nature supports eating sweets: Research says that humans, like many other animals, crave for sweet things out of instinct

4. Junk Food is Fast Food: Junk food is generally called Fast food. That means it can be made easily and eaten as much easily.

5. Brain Supports Junk Food (Part II): Few scientists also believe that ‘dopamine’ is released in the brains, when one sees fast food. ‘Dopamine’ a chemical that gives a positive energy towards something that you like. That means, because you already like some junk food, your brain is supporting it.

Dopamine and Opioids, supported by the colors and smells, definitely create a mouth water effect. And that’s the reason why it is really not possible to quit eating junk foods. But the governments of many nations, including the US government, still do not consider eating Junk food day in and out as an addiction.

Well, no matter who thinks what, Junk Food is dangerous for health. Junk food is one of the major reasons why you find more people suffer ‘obesity’. Avoiding junk food is not possible, but it isn’t impossible either.
Only a balanced diet can put some sense in the brain, and serve the body. What the governments will do is a different matter. But what we can do to our children and ourselves is in our hands. Planning our diet helps us best.
