Why People Delay Marriage?

delayed-marriage.jpgPounce on the first chance for having sex, commit later and then delay marriage - that’s how relationships between any ordinary couple exists today. One can understand the urge to jump into bed, but why is there a delay in commitment and marriage?

Well no body knows, but everybody guesses. So few researchers set out on finding why people tend to delay marriage and the answer has been boringly same: Fear of not fulfilling Expectations

Most people believe that they will not be able to stand up to the expectations of their partners or of the institution called marriage. This feeling completely elucidates them from approving themselves of their capability.

Reasons like “I don’t have enough money”, “…not a good career as yet” or “I’m not ready yet” are just other ways of saying “I think marriage is sacred, but I’m not sacred enough to justify it”.

Unfortunately, our religion, lifestyles, and the huge gap between what we say and what we do have deeply affected men (and women as well) making them under estimate themselves.

But fact is marriage isn’t something sacred nor is it made in heaven. Marriage is a couple’s way of saying, “look out, we don’t want anybody’s involvement between us”. However the myths about perfect marriage, the unnecessary drama created by divorce and the societal pressure (including culture and tradition) have forced people to believe that marriage is something else.

If you are reading this article, you are most probably trying to understand marriage and its relevance to life.

Marriage is normal. Remember those days when you thought life will be something else once you have so much money or particular thing. And yet, when you get that thing you recognize that life pretty same otherwise. Marriage is just like that. Nothing more, nothing less.

And if anybody wants to talk marriage before marriage, it is like the difference between imagining the taste and actually tasting the food.
