Use Contact Lenses Properly, Otherwise…
If you are improperly using contact lenses by not following the instructions or without getting advice from an eye specialist, you are at the risk of getting keratitis. Keratitis is a very severe form of eye infection that causes corneal ulcer.
It is normally the young women – aged between 19 and 24 – who are facing this problem. It’s because they are the ones who love to change the color and appearance of their eyes by frequently using contact lenses.
The use of contact lens is perfectly safe, until you follow instructions. If not, it will cause various problems.
One can be safe by avoiding doing the following common mistakes:
- Using lenses on the advice of an optician without consulting an eye specialist
- Sleeping with the lens on
- Cleaning the lenses with normal water
- Exchanging lenses
Remember – if the infection is severe ophthalmologists may fail to take proper corrective action. So as soon as there is some problem with your eye, contact a qualified eye doctor. This helps to take prompt action at proper time.
Sometimes even a delay of a few hours can badly affect your vision. Treating keratitis before some infection happens in your corneal tissue that can lead to the formation of scar tissue is very important.
The best suggestion we can give you is: consult your eye specialist even if you are wearing contact lenses for cosmetic purposes.
