How to Help Yourself Thru Grief?
It’s hard to come to terms when you suffer the loss of a loved one. The mind is in such a hopeless state that you just don’t know how to cope up with a situation like this.
At times it’s easier said than done to tell people to face it and get along with life. But there are a number of measures you can take to guide yourself thru this period:
•Take time off for yourself and be gentle with yourself when you make mistakes.
•Take care of yourself physically by eating and sleeping properly, avoid alcohol.
•Try doing gentle exercises like walking or meditation.
•Pamper yourself and talk to a friend who has been supportive to you.
•Recall on your happy memories by remembering the good times with the person whom you lost. Look at photographs and meaningful mementoes at times.
•Take things slowly and steadily. Try delaying plans for a few months especially relationships or a job shift.
Remember you’ve suffered a huge loss, and need to adjust to that change in your life first.
