Is Breastfeeding by Diabetic or Obese Women Healthy?

All of us know that breast-feeding is the healthier choice for both mother and child. But diabetic or obese mothers were till now given the opposite advice. It’s because earlier research findings suggested that milk from diabetic or overweight mothers could cause lifelong weight problems in the children.

But, a recent research study says that all these concerns can now be set to rest. A new study published in the October issue of the journal Diabetes Care, claims that breast-feeding by overweight or diabetic mothers helps in preventing obesity in their kids.

The research also claims that breast-feeding is the first thing the obese or diabetic mothers can do to save their children from developing those conditions.

Health experts also advise that diabetic women who nurse should maintain healthy glucose levels to give the healthiest possible milk for their babies.

How long do you think it will take for mothers to actually accept this information? Sometimes, old habits & precieved knowledge can be difficult to overcome. Great site, by the way!
