- A fingernail takes around six months to grow completely.
- Nails grow faster in summer.
- Men’s nails grow faster than women’s.
- Nails grow faster on the hand that you use most.
- Ingrowth of nails usually result from tight-fitting shoes or improper nail trimming.
- Nails are nothing but dead cells and are made of a protein called keratin (like hair).
- The average growth rate of a nail per day is 0.1 mm. Weather, activity, hormonal changes & age all have an effect on the rate of nail growth.
- With age, nails tend to get thicker, harder, and grow slower.
