Diet to Cure Autism in Children

These days autism is on the rise. Before thirty years it was only 1 child in 2,500. But today 1 in 150 American kids are suffering with autism spectrum disorder.

Autism is a biological and metabolic disorder that affects the brain, impairing speech, social skills and behavior. Children suffering from it don’t digest and metabolize certain proteins and cannot detoxify metals. This results in irregular brain development and toxic reactions in the brain.

But, don’t worry. There is good news for all parents. Researchers have come up with a solution that helps you in treating autism. The solution is – giving autistic children a gluten-free, casein-free diet. All other medications including applied behavior therapy, speech therapy and music therapy can work well on the kids if they take gluten-free, casein-free diet.
Gluten is a protein found in wheat, rye, barley and most oat products. Casein is a protein found in all dairy products. To most autistic children, gluten and casein are not digested. Peptides leak into the gut and attach to the opiate receptors of the autistic child’s brain. This causes irregular brain development and toxic reactions in the brain.

Though gluten-free, casein-free diet can not cure autism it helps a lot in improving the effectiveness of other therapies and medications. But it does not mean that every mother should stop feeding her kid with wheat or diary products. If your kid can digest and metabolize them, you can give them to your kid.

An easy cure? You must not have a child with
Autism. Things do not come easy to them. They
are great kids but please do not make comments
when you have no clue what you are talking
about. Some kids will benefit from a gluten
free diet, they are never cured. Not all
children respond to it either. Far from easy.

I have a child with autism and I will aggree with Kevin, it’s hard to just change their routine, habits and some of their favorite food. the child doesn’t understand, and process information the way other children do. but I will try this diet, whatever I can do to help my child, I’ll do it.

Cutting out gluten and casein is also helpful for children with food allergies. I work with obese children, and have seen many child diets. The best are full of fresh fruits and vegetables.
